This position involves designing electrical systems for building projects across various sectors, leading project teams, preparing construction documents, and overseeing construction activities, all under the guidance of a licensed engineer.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in project planning sessions and lead project engineering responsibilities.
Initiate and develop electrical system designs for building construction projects.
Prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications.
Guide less experienced team members in executing drawings and specifying electrical equipment.
Perform quality control checks on engineering documents and layout systems.
Review and markup shop drawings and submittals, and respond to RFIs and change orders.
Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
Attend and participate in construction meetings.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required.
Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
Experience in electrical systems design for building construction, including lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and telecommunication systems for healthcare, education, higher education, and commercial clients.
Ability to perform electrical engineering systems design and prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications.
Ability to review and markup shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, and review change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, including physical walk-through of sites.
Experience with computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, AGI32, Visual, and SKM Power Tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
