Job Description

A senior leadership role specializing in education projects, responsible for providing technical expertise, leading project planning and design, mentoring team members, and ensuring innovative, sustainable solutions while managing client relationships and project documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead high-level specialist role as a subject matter expert on Education projects, focusing on team and client leadership, mentoring, and improving work quality
  • Develop innovative solutions and responses to evolving research needs within the industry
  • Collaborate with project teams to provide technical expertise in programming and planning for projects
  • Lead user group meetings to gather and refine program needs and assess space utilization
  • Communicate planning concepts to project teams and owners through reports, graphics, and verbal explanations
  • Work with architectural designers to optimize plans that meet owners' goals and objectives
  • Translate planning concepts into comprehensible terms for clients, designers, and team members
  • Develop, modify, and review planning concepts and solutions
  • Create architectural drawings and specifications to translate planning into construction documentation
  • Develop project scope, plans, and services during the contract process
  • Incorporate sustainable design solutions into projects
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and potential clients
  • Provide guidance and advice to other designers and project leaders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering or a related degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience performing as a subject matter expert on projects
  • Previous experience working on large, complex, or multiple projects for the Education market
  • Knowledge of building codes and requirements
  • Must have advanced knowledge in the discipline
  • Must possess business acumen
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to be client facing
  • Ability to lead less experienced team members
  • Familiarity with Revit, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam software
  • Ability to develop, modify, and review planning concepts and solutions
  • Ability to develop project scope, plan, and services during the contract process
  • Ability to incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects
