Job Description
This position is a senior-level role focused on leading education projects through technical expertise, client and team leadership, and innovative design solutions, with responsibilities including programming, planning, developing construction documentation, and integrating sustainable design practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead high-level specialist role as a subject matter expert on Education projects, focusing on team and client leadership, mentoring, and improving work quality.
- Develop innovative solutions and responses to evolving research needs within the industry.
- Collaborate with project teams to provide technical expertise in programming and planning for projects.
- Lead user group meetings to gather and refine program needs and assess space utilization.
- Communicate planning concepts effectively to project teams and owners through reports and presentations.
- Work with architectural designers to optimize plans that meet owners' goals and objectives.
- Translate planning concepts into comprehensible terms for clients, designers, and team members.
- Develop, modify, and review planning concepts and solutions, including architectural drawings and specifications.
- Develop project scope, plan, and services during the contract process.
- Incorporate sustainable design solutions into projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering or a related degree
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience performing as a subject matter expert on projects
- Previous experience working on projects ranging from large, complex, or multiple projects for the Education market
- Knowledge of building codes and requirements
- Must have advanced knowledge in the discipline
- Must possess business acumen
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to be client facing
- Ability to lead less experienced team members
- Familiarity with Revit, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam software
