Job Description

A Structural Engineer conducts field evaluations of industrial structures, analyzes data, develops models and calculations, and designs rehabilitation or replacement plans to ensure structural integrity and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Support field evaluation of existing industrial structures
Develop calculations and analytical models for steel and concrete
Design rehabilitation or replacement plans for structures
Specify materials and write technical reports
Provide technical support and quality control during structural construction

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Civil Structural Engineering
Experience of minimum 0 years and maximum 3 years in structural engineering
E.I.T. licensure (Engineer-in-Training certification)
Familiarity with modelling software such as STAAD required
Knowledge of ACI 318, AISC, ASCE-7, and IBC required
Working knowledge of AutoCAD preferred
Must be able to support field evaluation of existing structures
Must be able to develop calculations and analytical models in steel and concrete
Must be able to design rehabilitation and/or replacement plans
Must be able to specify materials and write reports
Must be able to support technical aspects and quality control of structural construction
Must possess physical mobility on the ground and at heights
Must be able to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms and scaffolding using appropriate fall protection
Must be able to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing the appropriate PPE
Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces
Must be able to meet client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on field assignments
Must adhere to client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site
Must meet client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site
