Job Description
A Structural Engineer conducts field evaluations of industrial structures, analyzes data, develops models and calculations, and designs rehabilitation or replacement plans to ensure structural integrity and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Support field evaluation of existing industrial structures
- Develop calculations and analytical models for steel and concrete
- Design rehabilitation or replacement plans for structures
- Specify materials and write technical reports
- Provide technical support and quality control during structural construction
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Structural Engineering
- Experience of minimum 0 years and maximum 3 years in structural engineering
- E.I.T. licensure (Engineer-in-Training certification)
- Familiarity with modelling software such as STAAD required
- Knowledge of ACI 318, AISC, ASCE-7, and IBC required
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD preferred
- Must be able to support field evaluation of existing structures
- Must be able to develop calculations and analytical models in steel and concrete
- Must be able to design rehabilitation and/or replacement plans
- Must be able to specify materials and write reports
- Must be able to support technical aspects and quality control of structural construction
- Must possess physical mobility on the ground and at heights
- Must be able to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms and scaffolding using appropriate fall protection
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing the appropriate PPE
- Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to meet client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on field assignments
- Must adhere to client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site
- Must meet client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site
