Job Description

The Associate Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for generating instrumentation project deliverables, performing site surveys, and supporting field execution for process instrumentation projects, requiring coordination with design teams and adherence to safety and client-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate instrumentation project deliverables and work with designers on process instrumentation updates
  • Perform project site surveys of existing instrumentation for replacement or redesign
  • Conduct client documentation searches and mark up drawings/data sheets for as-found instrumentation and wiring details
  • Review project requirements and scopes of work
  • Attend client technical meetings and field walk-downs
  • Develop and prepare as-built or as-found instrumentation documentation
  • Generate instrumentation data, sheets, loop drawings, installation details, instrument lists, and P&ID diagrams
  • Provide technical support for field execution and outage turnaround projects

Requirements

  • BSc in Instrument, Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in instrumentation or related field
  • E.I.T. licensure
  • Knowledge of ISA, API, and ASME instrumentation standards
  • Working knowledge of SPI is preferred
  • Must possess physical mobility on the ground and at heights
  • Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms and scaffolding using appropriate fall protection
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing the appropriate PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and steel-toed work boots
  • Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces
  • Must meet client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on field assignments
  • Must adhere to client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site
  • Must meet client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site
