Job Description
The System Test Engineer at Aurora is responsible for developing and executing test strategies for the perception subsystem of the Aurora Driver, analyzing system performance, and collaborating with development teams to ensure safety and reliability in autonomous vehicle systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain test strategies, plans, and procedures for the Perception subsystem of the Aurora Driver.
- Serve as SME for specific sub-system capability items and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and improve performance.
- Design, implement, and coordinate diverse testing methods including simulation, track, and road testing to support system verification and validation.
- Execute tests, analyze results, and identify defects or anomalies in subsystem behavior.
- Work with development teams to assess performance, investigate root causes, and facilitate resolution of issues prior to release.
- Communicate complex technical ideas clearly to external teams, peers, and stakeholders.
- Design, develop, and train others in test processes and best practices.
- Establish new test evaluation processes and develop tooling and methods to enhance testing capabilities.
Requirements
- Degree in, or highly relevant experience in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another relevant engineering field
- 6 - 8 years of relevant industry experience in test and evaluation of complex systems
- Proven experience in test and evaluation of complex systems
- Demonstrated understanding of the interdependency of Requirements Decomposition, Test Coverage, and Deficiency Resolution
- Experience with test methods, tools, and frameworks
- Ability to synthesize data into meaningful information to support decision making
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Base salary range of 115K - 166.5K per year
