Job Description
The Staff Software Engineer will develop and optimize the core Autonomy Framework for Aurora's self-driving vehicles, focusing on performance, safety, and reliability of robotics middleware and autonomous systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate Aurora's Core Autonomy Framework for vehicle and cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve platform efficiency, robustness, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in distributed safety-critical real-time systems.
- Propose new features and create technical design documents to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Ensure adherence to best practices to maximize engineering productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Excellent C or C++ programming skills in a UNIX POSIX environment
- Demonstrated experience developing performance-critical applications
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in software development
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and validate core software frameworks
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex issues within distributed safety-critical real-time systems
- Experience proposing new features and writing technical design documents to improve platform efficiency, robustness, and scalability
Benefits & Perks
Base salary range: $189,000.00 - $303,000.00 per year
