Job Description

The Senior Project Manager will lead complex rail and transit projects, overseeing technical development, managing budgets and timelines, collaborating with internal and external teams, and supporting business growth in the Seattle transit market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex rail and transit projects from concept through construction, ensuring adherence to industry codes and client expectations.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables, overseeing development of drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver integrated technical solutions.
  • Maintain client relationships and participate in field investigations, site assessments, and design coordination meetings.
  • Provide ongoing engineering services including RFI responses, contractor submittal reviews, and field inspections.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineering staff and project coordinators to foster technical proficiency and professional growth.
  • Participate in business development activities such as proposal preparation, client relationship building, and marketing initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience functioning as the primary technical authority on diverse railroad and rail transit initiatives, including developing transit infrastructure, maintenance facilities, electrical facilities, stations, and operation facilities, from initial concept through construction support, while maintaining adherence to industry codes and client expectations.
  • Control of project budgets, timelines, and deliverables to achieve superior results, including directing the development of drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and engineering documentation, and conducting quality assurance reviews across all project phases.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners, including structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and architectural specialists, to deliver integrated solutions, and maintain direct client relationships.
  • Participation in field investigations, site assessments, and design coordination meetings as part of project delivery.
  • Deliver ongoing engineering services including RFI responses, contractor submittal reviews, as-built record support, and field inspection activities throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Experience in developing and mentoring junior engineering staff and project coordinators, fostering technical proficiency and professional growth, and serving as a technical mentor.
  • Proven ability to participate in business development activities such as proposal preparation, client relationship building, and marketing initiatives to expand transit and rail practice in the Seattle market.
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in transit or rail project management, engineering, or related roles.
  • Ability to control and manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables effectively.
  • Experience working in a hybrid work environment with in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday and WFH Monday and Friday.
  • Successful completion of a standard pre-employment background screening, including Social Security verification, educational verification, review of criminal convictions, and driving history.
