Job Description

A Senior Project Manager responsible for leading complex rail and transit projects, managing technical aspects from concept to construction, and supporting business growth in the Seattle transportation market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex rail and transit projects from concept through construction, ensuring adherence to industry codes and client expectations.
  • Control project budgets, timelines, and deliverables, and oversee the development of engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
  • Maintain client relationships and participate in field investigations, site assessments, and design coordination meetings.
  • Provide ongoing engineering services such as RFI responses, contractor submittal reviews, and field inspections throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineering staff and project coordinators to foster technical proficiency and professional growth.
  • Support business development efforts through proposal preparation, client relationship building, and marketing initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience functioning as the primary technical authority on diverse railroad and rail transit initiatives, including developing transit infrastructure, maintenance facilities, electrical facilities, stations, and operation facilities, from initial concept through construction support, while maintaining adherence to industry codes and client expectations.
  • Control budgets, timelines, and deliverables to achieve superior results in complex transit projects.
  • Direct the development of drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and engineering documentation, and conduct quality assurance reviews across all project phases.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners, including structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and architectural specialists, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Maintain direct client relationships and participate in field investigations, site assessments, and design coordination meetings.
  • Support the full project lifecycle by delivering ongoing engineering services including RFI responses, contractor submittal reviews, as-built record support, and field inspection activities.
  • Direct and develop junior engineering staff and project coordinators, fostering an environment of technical proficiency and professional growth while serving as a technical mentor.
  • Participate in business development activities such as proposal preparation, client relationship building, and marketing initiatives to expand the Transit and Rail practice in the Seattle market.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in transit or rail project management or engineering roles.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, transportation planning, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in industry codes, standards, and regulations related to rail transit projects.
  • Ability to control project budgets, schedules, and deliverables effectively.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Willingness to participate in a hybrid work environment, with in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday and WFH Monday and Friday.
