Job Description

The Senior Training Program Manager at Aurora is responsible for designing, managing, and improving training programs within a business unit, ensuring content quality, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with organizational goals in a safety-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of up to 3 training programs within a specific Business Unit
  • Design engaging, accessible, and effective training content
  • Oversee curriculum and program execution, including timelines and logistics
  • Maintain and update a centralized curriculum map tracking the learner journey
  • Coordinate with field teams to capture knowledge and improve content
  • Establish and enforce content quality standards and instructional best practices
  • Implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve curriculum
  • Align training initiatives with business goals and organizational needs
  • Track training metrics, report on program success, and manage program outcomes
  • Conduct self-reflection and identify systemic process improvements

Requirements

  • Manage a portfolio of up to 3 concurrent training programs within a specific Business Unit (BU).
  • Proactively engage cross-functional partners and manage stakeholders effectively, resolving cross-functional issues without needing manager intervention.
  • Design engaging, accessible, and effective training content.
  • Manage curriculum and program execution, including timelines and logistics.
  • Maintain a centralized curriculum map that tracks the full learner journey.
  • Keep training content current and consistently updated as tools, workflows, and vehicles evolve.
  • Coordinate knowledge capture with field teams to proactively update and improve content.
  • Establish and enforce best practices to ensure content quality and consistency, including building and maintaining content templates, style guides, and instructional standards.
  • Implement feedback loops from learners, facilitators, and SMEs, using evaluation data, surveys, performance metrics, and audits to improve curriculum over time.
  • Partner with other teams to align training with business goals and proactively manage the success of the entire program portfolio.
  • Make data-informed trade-offs that optimize for the Business Unit's value and anticipate organizational needs.
  • Publish content, track completions, and report on metrics.
  • Conduct self-reflection and document lessons learned from the program portfolio to identify and propose solutions for systemic process improvements.
  • Possess at least 6 years of experience managing instructional design, curriculum development, or training project management specifically in safety-critical or high-stakes operational environments.
  • Have deep familiarity with adult learning principles, learning technologies (e.g., LMS platforms), and instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE or SAM.
  • Demonstrate integrity and grounds influence in a commitment to safety and ethical standards.
  • Be accountable to all project deadlines and follow through on commitments.
  • Communicate key functional decisions, including content changes, with full commitment and clear rationale to stakeholders within the BU.
  • Actively seek feedback from stakeholders to identify and address unintentional exclusion in program design and adapt solutions accordingly.
  • Possess exceptional project management skills, be organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Be comfortable working with cross-functional teams and translating technical content into digestible learning materials.
