Job Description
The Security Engineering Technical Leader at Aurora is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise security controls across various environments, leading a team of security engineers, and ensuring the company's safety and risk management objectives are met in a fast-paced, innovative setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and review enterprise security solutions to ensure alignment with security standards and operational sustainability.
- Define security goals and requirements for enterprise, terminal, factory, and endpoint environments.
- Lead the execution of security initiatives, including planning, prioritization, and delivery, while managing technical debt and operational commitments.
- Establish and maintain operational processes, runbooks, and documentation for security controls and incident response.
- Act as an escalation point for security incidents, investigations, and remediation efforts.
- Lead and mentor a team of security engineers, setting expectations for ownership and accountability.
- Support audits, compliance activities, and safety case requirements related to security.
Requirements
- Ten (10) years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or enterprise platform security.
- Proven experience leading engineers in a technical lead and manager role.
- Demonstrated technical capability to perform complex engineering work, including design, configuration, integration, and deployment of security tools and controls.
- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise security tooling, including endpoint protection and EDR/XDR (e.g., Crowdstrike), MDM UEM, DLP, DNS filtering, network security scanning, WAF, DDoS mitigation, IAM platforms, PAM, PKI and certificate management, and SIEM.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust and identity-centric security architectures.
- Experience supporting cloud security controls and integrations in AWS.
- Familiarity with NIST, CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, and cyber threat modeling.
- Experience operating in environments that balance delivery velocity, operational reliability, governance, risk, and safety requirements.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with proven ability to communicate clearly with all leadership levels.
- Comfort leading in an ambiguous, teamwork-oriented environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Benefits & Perks
Base salary range: 189,000 - 274,000 per year
