Job Description

The Structural Engineer at Atwell, LLC will lead design and support for power generation and delivery projects, including renewable energy facilities and substations, by managing technical tasks, collaborating with clients and teams, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support project teams in design and technical tasks
  • Collaborate on project proposals and develop project plans
  • Draft, review, and finalize technical documents and site plans
  • Implement revisions to plans based on regulatory and client feedback
  • Conduct research on zoning requirements and perform site assessments
  • Analyze survey data and site conditions for feasibility
  • Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, and PLS-CADD
  • Manage communication with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies
  • Provide project updates and status reports to team members and managers
  • Apply engineering principles and industry best practices to project deliverables
  • Prioritize and manage workload to meet project deadlines

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience in structural analysis and design of steel and concrete foundations and platforms for solar PV systems racking and tracking structures, electrical and mechanical equipment, and miscellaneous structures for utility-scale solar projects.
  • Experience in structural analysis and design of structures for substation and transmission line projects is preferred.
  • Experience working on Utility Scale Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
  • Proficiency in using engineering software such as STAAD.Pro, ROBOT, L-PILE, or equivalent software.
  • Experience with PLS-POLE, PLS-CADD, FAD TOOLS, or equivalent software is preferred.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
  • Registration as a Structural Engineer (SE) is preferred.
  • Must have experience in Renewable Energy, Substation, and/or Transmission Line projects.
