Job Description
The Data Analyst at Atwell, LLC is responsible for analyzing and modeling complex datasets to support decision-making across civil engineering projects, focusing on developing dashboards, predictive models, and insights to improve project performance, financial forecasting, and operational efficiency, while also providing analytical support for Human Resources initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, model, and interpret complex datasets from enterprise systems to support decision-making.
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and data visualizations for various teams.
- Develop predictive models and statistical analyses for forecasting and operational insights.
- Create and manage scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Microsoft tools.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and quality through validation and quality assurance processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and develop analytical solutions.
- Communicate analytical results effectively to non-technical audiences through visualizations and reports.
- Support data governance, security, and standardization of KPIs and reporting frameworks.
- Research and recommend emerging data technologies and analytical techniques.
- Partner with HR to develop dashboards, metrics, and recurring reports on workforce trends and talent metrics.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and advanced visualization design.
- Strong experience with SQL, including writing queries, stored procedures, and data modeling techniques.
- Understanding of Deltek Vision Vantagepoint data structures, reporting tables, and integration patterns.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, or machine learning techniques.
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem, including Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate, and Azure-based tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to approach technical and business challenges methodically.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and data-driven recommendations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present findings to varied audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience extracting, analyzing, and modeling data from enterprise systems such as Deltek Vision Vantagepoint and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and data visualizations that deliver actionable insights.
- Experience developing predictive models and statistical analyses to support forecasting, project risk identification, and operational decision-making.
- Experience creating and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Microsoft tools such as Power Query, SQL, Dataverse, and SharePoint integrations.
- Experience supporting data governance, security best practices, and standardization of KPIs and reporting frameworks.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams including engineering, project management, finance, Human Resources, and IT to develop analytical solutions.
- Experience documenting analytical methods, data structures, dashboards, and models following internal standards.
- Partnering with Human Resources to develop HR dashboards and metrics related to workforce trends, headcount, turnover, retention, compensation insights, and talent planning, ensuring data quality and actionable interpretation.
- Serving as a subject-matter expert for HRIS data structure, reporting, and integrations.
