Job Description
The Operations Center Manager will lead the transformation and management of a 24/7 renewable energy operations center, overseeing real-time monitoring, system processes, compliance, team development, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure stable and efficient utility-scale solar operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and lead the transition of the operations center to a 24/7, fully staffed control center
- Monitor real-time solar asset operations, manage alarms, and coordinate issue resolution
- Implement and refine systems, processes, and protocols for operational stability and compliance
- Ensure NERC standards compliance and prepare the ROC for future utility-scale responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and coach the ROC team, including training and qualification programs
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and issue resolution
- Oversee third-party monitoring providers to ensure SLA adherence and proper escalation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in renewable energy, utilities, or power operations
- At least 3 years of experience managing a monitoring, dispatch, or operations center
- Experience working in dynamic or transitioning operational environments
- Strong knowledge of SCADA systems and monitoring platforms
- Experience standing up or scaling a 24/7 operations or control center
- Familiarity with CMMS platforms such as Maximo, SAP, Infor, etc.
- Exposure to utility-scale operations or ISO RTO environments such as PJM, ERCOT
- Working knowledge of NERC standards and compliance frameworks
- Experience working alongside external consultants or in structured transformation programs
