Job Description
The Director of Survey at Atwell, LLC is responsible for leading survey operations, managing client relationships, overseeing project financials, mentoring team members, and driving business growth within the land development and surveying industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic plans for survey projects
- Manage client contracts, define project goals, and oversee negotiations
- Oversee project financials, including invoicing and accounts receivable
- Coordinate internal communication and stakeholder engagement
- Mentor and support survey team members for professional growth
- Drive business development through marketing, client engagement, and proposals
- Ensure thorough documentation of survey projects using web-based tools
- Stay updated on industry trends and implement improvements in project performance
Requirements
- Proven experience in survey project management and leadership roles with at least 5 years of experience in a land development-focused survey leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in surveying, engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Professional licensure or certification in surveying, engineering, or related field.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to engage effectively.
- Proficiency in engineering, environmental, land planning, and survey concepts.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a track record of handling multiple projects.
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development.
- Develop and execute a Project Manager Business Plan to steer survey projects towards success.
- Engage with clients to define project goals, manage contract negotiations, and ensure agreements are in place before project start.
- Oversee project invoicing, accounts receivable, and ensure financial alignment with contracts.
- Facilitate internal communication, foster team collaboration, and coordinate with stakeholders to define project parameters.
- Mentor and support team members, promoting professional growth and ensuring high-quality project outcomes.
- Drive growth through strategic marketing, client engagement, and proposal management.
- Ensure efficient and thorough project documentation using web-based tools.
- Stay updated on industry trends and apply insights to improve project performance and outcomes.
