Job Description
The role involves leading survey projects through strategic planning, client collaboration, team mentorship, and technical expertise, with a focus on delivering high-quality surveying services while managing project finances and fostering client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an annual Project Manager Business Plan for survey efforts
- Collaborate with clients and management to define project objectives and create proposals
- Negotiate and secure signed contractual agreements with clients
- Manage project invoicing, accounts receivable, and financial alignment with contracts
- Foster internal communication and information sharing across teams and sectors
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and address concerns promptly
- Support business development through marketing, presentations, and proposal follow-ups
- Maintain efficient project documentation using web-based software
- Coach, counsel, and mentor team members for professional growth
- Ensure project inputs and quality standards are met
- Stay updated with industry trends through workshops and professional societies
- Achieve performance targets related to chargeability, revenue, and invoicing
- Apply fundamental survey and engineering concepts independently
- Organize project teams, assign responsibilities, and collaborate with sub-consultants
- Analyze project information and trends to meet project objectives
- Manage budgets, schedules, expenditures, and invoicing to meet financial goals
- Report project outcomes and insights for continuous improvement
- Work with stakeholders to define project timeframes, budgets, and staffing
Requirements
- Proven experience in survey project management and leadership roles.
- Ability to independently apply fundamental survey and engineering concepts as needed.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with strong listening abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen and ability to contribute to business development efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as surveying, engineering, or similar; an advanced degree is a plus.
- Professional licensure certification in surveying, engineering, or related field.
