Job Description
This role involves collaborating on civil engineering projects, analyzing site data, preparing reports, supporting construction activities, and mentoring junior staff, with opportunities for professional growth into project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing site plans and construction documents
- Analyze survey data and existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, easements, and surveys
- Guide and support junior staff to ensure accurate and efficient task execution
- Prepare technical reports, opinions, and recommendations related to hydrology, storm sewer, and project schedules
- Provide construction support, including permit applications and quantity estimates
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to complete assignments on time and within budget
- Develop project management skills through training and mentoring for potential career growth
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Six (6) or more years of related experience in civil engineering projects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and various engineering software packages
- Ability to collaborate closely with Project Managers in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing preliminary and final site plans and construction documents
- Experience analyzing project survey data, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents
- Ability to guide and assist junior staff, ensuring project-based tasks are executed accurately and efficiently
- Technical skills to prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology hydraulic studies, project schedules, and storm sewer reports
- Experience providing construction support services, including permit applications and quantity estimates
- Ability to develop and improve Project Management skills through training and mentoring, with the potential to grow into a Project Manager role
- Physical ability to perform construction-related services and direct junior team members as required
- Willingness to develop future Project Manager skills through training and mentoring
