Job Description
A Civil Engineer at Atwell, LLC, is responsible for designing and analyzing land development projects, preparing detailed site plans and reports, supporting construction activities, and utilizing engineering software to ensure project accuracy and compliance across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft preliminary and final site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Analyze project survey data and assess existing site conditions
- Prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations for project direction
- Provide construction support including permit applications, quantity estimates, and transmittals
- Organize and manage site plans, construction plans, and documents
- Utilize engineering software to complete assignments in compliance with standards
- Collaborate with team members through effective written and verbal communication
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- 2 years of land development experience
- Proficiency in drafting preliminary and final site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, ensuring precision and adherence to industry standards
- Ability to analyze project survey data to assess existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents
- Experience preparing reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology hydraulic studies, due diligence site analysis reports, engineer s opinion of probable costs, project schedules, utility computations, detention retention computations, storm sewer reports, local and state permit applications, stormwater reports, soils reports, earthwork volume calculations, StormCAD reports, WaterCAD reports, and preliminary grading
- Experience providing construction-related services including permit applications, cut sheets, quantity estimates, and transmittals
- Ability to organize site plans, construction plans, and construction documents under the guidance of Senior staff
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software packages such as WaterCAD, StormCAD, and SewerCAD
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with staff and project coordination
- EIT certification preferred
