Job Description
The Senior Interconnection Engineer at Arevon is responsible for managing and coordinating interconnection activities for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with utility and regulatory requirements from development through commercial operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage interconnection activities, studies, and applications for renewable energy projects.
- Coordinate with ISOs, RTOs, transmission providers, and utilities to ensure cost-effective interconnections.
- Develop and oversee interconnection schedules and milestones.
- Support negotiations for technical studies and interconnection agreements.
- Oversee consultants working on interconnection applications, modeling, and studies.
- Assist project teams with design, construction, and commissioning deliverables related to interconnection.
- Support bid activities by preparing technical documents for RFPs.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and policies at ISOs and RTOs.
- Develop and implement methodologies, tools, and procedures to improve project lifecycle efficiency.
Requirements
- BS in Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
- 3 - 5 years of experience as a Senior Interconnection Engineer or Interconnection Engineer in the renewable energy industry, utility, or RTO/ISO environment.
- Proficiency with software used in interconnection studies, such as PSS E, PSCAD, and PSLF.
- In-depth knowledge of interconnection procedures at utilities, ISOs RTOs, and transmission providers.
- Ability to comprehend complex interconnection study reports and communicate their impact on projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with external and internal customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
