The Manager of Real-Time Operations oversees the remote control and monitoring of renewable energy assets such as wind, solar, and energy storage, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement within a control center environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and supervise the remote control and monitoring of renewable energy assets.
Provide direction and oversight to the Operations team in daily activities.
Monitor real-time performance and operational status of wind, solar, and energy storage assets.
Assist operators in identifying and troubleshooting abnormal operations and alarms.
Perform periodic reviews of operator logs for accuracy and compliance.
Support commissioning and acceptance testing of control tools and new projects.
Develop and implement processes to ensure regulatory and internal compliance.
Coordinate with various teams to execute operational processes and fleet performance reporting.
Report operational incidents to senior management.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline, or relevant experience in electrical power generation in lieu of education
Minimum of 2 years experience in Renewable Control Center Operations
Control Center Dispatch experience preferred
PJ M GO Certification required within 6 months of employment
NERC Certification required within 12 months of employment
Able to demonstrate technical knowledge of plant and system processes and experience in operating electrical or SCADA systems
Able to interpret NERC, ERCOT, WECC, CAISO, PJM, and SPP regulations and requirements
Available for 24-hour on-call duty to meet obligations to the Operations Team as issues arise
Knowledge of functional system interactions and ability to pay attention to critical elements in a complex and regulated environment
Ability to make financial judgments based on real-time power plant equipment analysis and contract-related cost weighting risk versus reward
Ability to coordinate multiple activities and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence
Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, conduct analysis unsupervised and in collaboration with others
Ability to work in difficult customer situations
Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide goals
Demonstrated self-starter with a positive attitude and a passion for excellence in embracing company goals and initiatives
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
