Job Description
The Development Associate, Spatial Data Specialist supports renewable energy project development by managing geospatial data, performing spatial analyses, and ensuring data quality within GIS systems to aid in siting and development of solar and storage projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and curate geospatial data from external sources to meet company standards
- Establish and refine workflows for data intake and processing of survey and cadastral data
- Coordinate maintenance of land parcel and survey datasets with internal teams
- Manage and standardize GIS data products within Arevon's ArcGIS Online infrastructure
- Update GIS process documentation and training materials
- Produce map products and lease exhibits adhering to quality standards
- Perform spatial analyses, including suitability modeling and competition analysis, to support project development
Requirements
- A 4-year degree in a GIS-related field from an accredited university.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in a GIS role with specific skills and knowledge related to cadastral, land survey, or environmental data.
- Experience transforming, cleaning, and maintaining GIS data, especially in an ArcGIS Online or Enterprise environment.
- Significant experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro or QGIS.
- Strong understanding of geospatial workflows.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn new software quickly.
