Job Description
This role involves developing and maintaining data-intensive applications related to real-time energy monitoring and trading, with responsibilities including system design, UI/UX development, infrastructure management, and collaboration with data science teams in a renewable energy company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with architectural design and implementation of product features based on business requirements
- Design user interfaces for data-intensive products to ensure a user-friendly experience
- Develop and optimize database schemas and backend systems
- Maintain and improve cloud infrastructure for applications
- Partner with data science teams to deploy and monitor predictive models
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes, including testing
- Develop and uphold coding standards and development best practices
Requirements
- At least 2 years experience as a Software Developer
- Willingness to explore problems and solve them independently as part of a small team, with self-sufficient problem solving being critical
- Ability to express opinions and suggest solutions to problems identified
- Strong emphasis on implementing features correctly versus quickly, and minimizing technical debt
- Ability to work on small teams and operate with a high degree of autonomy
- Willingness to explore all layers of the software stack to solve problems the right way
- Experience building complex single-page applications
- Experience working on UI/UX for data-intensive software
- Experience working with backend systems processing large volumes of data
- Proficiency in Python and Javascript programming languages
- Experience with frontend technologies including React, Vite, and Redux
- Experience with backend systems including AWS, Django REST framework, Docker, MongoDB, Snowflake, TimescaleDB, and Postgres
