Job Description
A Data Scientist at Arevon will develop models and algorithms to support energy storage portfolio management, analyze power market data, and provide insights to optimize investment and operational decisions in the renewable energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve and develop price forecast models for power markets including day-ahead, real-time, and long-term projections.
- Analyze large-scale power market datasets to identify trends, drivers, and risks affecting asset value.
- Translate quantitative research and market analysis into actionable insights for trading, asset management, and investment decisions.
Requirements
- Direct experience working with power market data and analytics such as CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, NYISO, PJM, or similar.
- Experience in modeling, forecasting, or optimizing within power energy markets.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in data analysis and quantitative modeling.
- Advanced programming skills in Python or R.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Proficiency with mathematical programming optimization and model validation.
- Ability to manage and analyze large, unstructured datasets using distributed computing platforms.
- Strong communication skills to translate complex quantitative findings into actionable business insights.
