Job Description
The Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and managing Arevon's renewable energy assets, including solar and energy storage systems, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and regulatory compliance through remote operations and coordination with maintenance and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control PV and BESS energy facilities remotely
- Coordinate switching activities to ensure personnel safety
- Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, NERC, and ISO regulations
- Support maintenance activities through planned outage coordination
- Identify and resolve real-time outages to minimize revenue loss
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience in power plant operations with a preference towards renewable and BESS operations.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical co-workers and vendors.
- Strong understanding of outage reporting rules and requirements.
- Ability to implement operational procedures and processes.
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts with some overnight shifts.
- Ability to remotely monitor and control a diverse fleet of PV and BESS facilities including co-located and hybrid resources.
- Ability to coordinate switching activities with site maintenance teams, transmission system operators, and other nearby generation facilities to ensure personnel safety.
- Ability to ensure regulatory compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations including applicable NERC and ISO rules.
- Support site maintenance activities through planned outage execution, including coordination with applicable transmission system operators, scheduling coordinators, and balancing authorities.
- Identify and address real-time, forced outages and coordinate with internal and external parties to resolve issues while mitigating lost revenue.
