Job Description
The Analyst on the Finance Investing team supports the deployment of capital into renewable energy projects by developing financial models, conducting due diligence, and analyzing investment opportunities to optimize returns and facilitate project financing and acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage financial models analyzing the economics and risks of acquisitions, investments, and project financings.
- Support transactions across Investment, Project Finance, and Origination teams.
- Review and create investment memos with market analysis and return sensitivities.
- Communicate financial results and recommendations to management.
- Support third-party capital raises, including debt, tax equity, refinancing, and project equity structures.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop underwriting assumptions.
- Manage due diligence and third-party reports, coordinating with external parties.
- Assist in growing the development pipeline by working with the Origination team on bid pricing and project assumptions.
- Review and support negotiations of purchase, operating, financing, and offtake agreements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Math or Engineering
- 1-3 Years experience in the Renewable Energy Industry, Utilities Sector or Banking
- Demonstrated financial acumen and experience developing and building complex financial models using Microsoft Excel
- Proven ability to develop and manage financial models analyzing the economics and risks associated with potential acquisitions, company investments, and project financing structures
- Experience supporting transactions across the Investment, Project Finance and Origination teams
- Experience reviewing and helping create investment memos detailing market analysis and returns sensitivities for potential project and portfolio acquisitions
- Ability to communicate results and recommendations to the management team
- Experience supporting third party capital raises, including debt, tax equity, refinancing, and project equity structures
- Ability to collaborate across internal teams including Development Construction, Engineering, and Asset Management to develop underwriting assumptions
- Experience managing due diligence and third-party consultant reports, and coordinating directly with external parties
- Experience supporting the growth of the development pipeline by working with the Origination team to determine competitive bid pricing based on project assumptions, capital structures, and market dynamics
- Experience reviewing purchase agreements, operating agreements, financing agreements, and offtake agreements, and supporting negotiations
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Critical thinking ability to solve complex problems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to set and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Creative thought process with new products or financial structures to enhance value
