The Tax Director for Restaurant and Franchise Hospitality at Aprio is responsible for leading tax strategies and providing expert guidance to clients in the restaurant and hospitality franchise industry, while contributing to the growth and success of a dynamic, fast-growing CPA and advisory firm.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage tax planning and compliance for restaurant and franchise hospitality clients.
Provide strategic tax advice to optimize clients' tax positions and opportunities.
Oversee and review complex tax returns and related documentation for clients.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships to understand their business needs.
Stay current with industry regulations and tax laws affecting the restaurant and franchise sectors.
Mentor and guide junior team members on technical tax matters and client service.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax advisory or related roles within the restaurant, franchise, or hospitality industries.
Deep understanding of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to the restaurant, franchise, and hospitality sectors.
Proven experience in managing and leading tax planning, compliance, and consulting projects for clients in the restaurant, franchise, or hospitality industries.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations applicable to restaurant, franchise, and hospitality businesses.
Ability to analyze complex tax issues and develop strategic solutions tailored to clients in the restaurant, franchise, or hospitality sectors.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is required.
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in managing a team or projects within a professional services environment.
Physical ability to perform work in an office setting, including sitting for extended periods and using standard office equipment.
