Job Description

The Tax Director - Restaurant, Franchise Hospitality role involves leading tax strategies and providing expert guidance for clients in the restaurant and franchise hospitality industry within a dynamic, growth-oriented CPA and advisory firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee tax planning and compliance for restaurant and franchise hospitality clients.
  • Provide strategic tax advice to optimize client opportunities and minimize liabilities.
  • Manage and develop client relationships within the restaurant and franchise hospitality industry.

Requirements

  • Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in tax, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role within the restaurant, franchise, or hospitality industry.
  • Have a CPA license or equivalent certification recognized in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements specific to the restaurant, franchise, and hospitality industries.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement tax strategies that maximize client opportunities and ensure compliance.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team of tax professionals, including mentoring and supervising staff.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ability to analyze complex tax issues and provide strategic advice tailored to the restaurant and franchise hospitality sectors.
  • Experience with tax planning, compliance, and consulting services related to fast-growing industries, particularly restaurants and franchises.
  • Knowledge of current industry trends, tax legislation, and best practices relevant to the restaurant and hospitality sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to originate new client relationships and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or additional certifications (e.g., MST, JD) are a plus but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to work in a flexible environment that may include remote and hybrid work arrangements.
