Job Description
The Tax Director for Construction Industry at Aprio leads and manages tax engagements for construction clients, providing strategic tax planning, compliance, and consulting services to help clients maximize profitability and manage risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage tax engagements for clients in the construction industry, including general contractors, subcontractors, developers, and homebuilders.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to ownership and executive teams, providing proactive tax planning, compliance, and consulting services.
- Work closely with the Construction Segment Leader and firm partners to manage client relationships.
- Oversee staff development related to construction tax services.
- Contribute to business development initiatives within the construction industry segment.
Requirements
- Lead and manage tax engagements for clients in the construction industry, including general contractors, subcontractors, developers, and homebuilders.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to ownership and executive teams by providing proactive tax planning, compliance, and consulting services.
- Work closely with the Construction Segment Leader and firm partners to manage client relationships.
- Oversee staff development related to construction tax services.
- Contribute to business development initiatives within the construction industry.
- Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in tax services, specifically with a focus on the construction industry.
- Have a strong understanding of construction industry-specific tax issues, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Possess a CPA license or equivalent certification.
- Demonstrate experience in providing tax planning, compliance, and consulting services to construction industry clients.
- Have the ability to serve as a strategic advisor to clients' ownership and executive teams.
- Possess excellent communication and relationship management skills to work with clients and internal teams.
- Be capable of managing multiple client engagements simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
- Have experience in staff development and mentoring within a tax services environment.
