Job Description

A Senior Tax Manager role responsible for leading tax strategies and client opportunities within a fast-growing, innovative CPA and advisory firm, supporting a diverse team and fostering professional growth in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee complex tax planning and compliance for clients in the restaurant and franchise hospitality industry.
  • Provide strategic tax advice to clients to maximize their opportunities and minimize liabilities.
  • Lead and review tax return preparation and ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Assist in tax research and stay updated on current tax laws and regulations affecting clients.
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff and team members on tax projects and client engagements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax, with at least 3 years in a managerial or senior role within a public accounting or CPA firm setting.
  • Proven expertise in managing and overseeing complex tax engagements for clients, including planning, compliance, and consulting.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations relevant to the restaurant, franchise, and hospitality industries.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team of tax professionals, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
  • Experience in identifying and pursuing new client opportunities, including origination of new client sales.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members, and to present complex tax issues clearly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a focus on client service and quality work.
  • Physical ability to perform work at a desk, including extensive use of computer and communication devices, with flexibility for remote or hybrid work arrangements.
  • Willingness to stay current with evolving tax laws and industry best practices through continuous learning and professional development.
