Job Description
A Senior Tax Associate specializing in State Income and Franchise Tax, responsible for assisting clients with tax strategies and compliance within a dynamic, growth-oriented CPA and advisory firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with state income and franchise tax compliance and planning
- Prepare and review state tax returns and related documentation
- Research and analyze state tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
- Advise clients on state tax strategies and opportunities
- Support audit defense and correspondence with state tax authorities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in state income and franchise tax compliance and planning.
- Strong knowledge of state and local tax laws, regulations, and compliance procedures related to state income and franchise taxes.
- Experience preparing and reviewing state income and franchise tax returns for various types of entities.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex tax laws and regulations and apply them to client situations.
- Proficiency in tax research and using tax software relevant to state income and franchise tax filings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in tax filings.
- Willingness to stay current with changes in state tax laws and regulations through ongoing education and research.
