A Senior Associate in State Income and Franchise Tax at Aprio will assist clients with state and local tax strategies, compliance, and planning, working within a dynamic, growth-oriented CPA and advisory firm environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist clients with state income and franchise tax compliance and planning
Prepare and review state income and franchise tax returns
Research and analyze state tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
Identify tax opportunities and risks for clients in state and local jurisdictions
Support clients in tax audits and correspondence with tax authorities
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in state income and franchise tax compliance and planning.
Strong knowledge of state income tax laws, regulations, and compliance procedures.
Experience preparing and reviewing state income and franchise tax returns.
Ability to analyze and interpret state tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Proficiency in tax research and the use of tax software relevant to state income and franchise tax.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical ability to perform work at a computer for extended periods.
