Job Description
A Senior Research Engineer specializing in reinforcement learning to develop and evaluate autonomous robot navigation systems, focusing on advancing AI, planning, and control technologies for mobile robotics applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate cutting-edge AI, planning, and control technologies for robot autonomy and perception.
- Design proof-of-concept experiments and build research prototypes.
- Assess new technologies and transfer promising ideas to product teams.
- Shape the technology roadmap to ensure solutions are robust and reliable.
Requirements
- Experience in research and development of AI, planning, and control technologies related to robotics, environment perception, and autonomous navigation.
- Ability to evaluate cutting-edge AI, planning, and control technologies from novel environment perception to advanced planning.
- Experience in designing proof-of-concept experiments and building research prototypes for robotics applications.
- Proven ability to assess new technologies and transfer promising ideas swiftly to product teams.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers and partners in a research and development environment.
- Demonstrated capability to shape technology roadmaps and guide long-term strategy for autonomous robotic systems.
- Hands-on experimentation skills with robotics hardware and software systems.
- Experience working on autonomous systems, mobile robotics, or related fields involving sensors such as camera- and LIDAR-based sensing.
- Educational background in a relevant field such as robotics, computer science, electrical engineering, or related disciplines (implied by research and development role).
