The Director of Product will lead the development and scaling of Amber's core energy platform, shaping product vision, building high-performing teams, and driving the global expansion of innovative renewable energy solutions for utilities and consumers.
Key Responsibilities
Shape and maintain the product vision and strategic direction for Amber's core platform.
Build and lead the systems, practices, and talent necessary to scale the product team effectively.
Develop and support home automation integrations, mobile apps, pricing and billing engines, and licensing platforms.
Ensure the product solutions are deployed and adopted across multiple utility partners globally.
Create and uphold high-quality product standards and cross-functional collaboration as the company scales.
Requirements
Experience in building and leading product teams with the ability to develop and support home automation integrations such as solar, batteries, electric vehicles (EVs), and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology.
Proven experience in developing and managing mobile web applications for customers to monitor and manage their energy usage.
Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining a pricing and billing engine for real-time energy pricing.
Ability to build and support a licensed technology platform that powers utility partners across multiple regions, including Europe.
Strong understanding of systems and practices necessary to keep a growing product function coherent and high-quality as the organization scales, including establishing effective practices, rituals, and cross-functional collaboration.
Demonstrated ability to shape and lock in a product vision, ensuring strategic alignment and clear direction without micromanagement.
Experience in building product capability and talent, fostering a high-performing team environment, and developing leadership within the product organization.
At least 5 years of experience in product management or related roles, with a track record of delivering real-world outcomes in technology-driven environments.
Educational background or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, or product management.
Ability to operate effectively within an executive leadership context, collaborating with C-level stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Experience working in or with utility or energy technology sectors is preferred but not explicitly mandatory; a strong understanding of renewable energy markets and grid integration is advantageous.
Candidates must be based in Australia and currently hold the legal right to work in Australia; the company is not looking to relocate candidates but may sponsor existing employees with a current working visa.
