Job Description
A Software Engineer in Test II at AlertMedia is responsible for developing and executing automated and manual tests to ensure the quality and robustness of the company's products, while mentoring team members and collaborating cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and document testing activities including test planning, execution, automation, defect tracking, and release management
- Create and maintain automated tests to prevent software regressions
- Perform manual testing on web and mobile platforms to identify issues before release
- Document software defects and report them to developers, monitor defect resolution
- Conduct exploratory and load testing to ensure product robustness
- Collaborate with engineering and customer success teams to troubleshoot and optimize test coverage
Requirements
- Four (4) years of experience in a QA Testing role, preferably as a thought-leader or mentor on a team
- A B.A. or B.S. degree is desired
- Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Gherkin, etc.
- Web browser UI automation testing experience written in Python or JavaScript
- Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines such as git, Jenkins, etc.
- Ability to work with large datasets in SQL or NoSQL databases
- Understanding of REST and the ability to thoroughly test APIs for functional or performance issues
- Experience performing manual testing for business and functional requirements on web and mobile platforms
- Experience documenting software defects using a bug tracking system and reporting defects to software developers
- Experience monitoring bug resolution and tracking successes
- Experience performing exploratory and load testing to ensure product robustness
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and customer success teams to troubleshoot and determine tests with the best coverage for use cases and customer trouble spots
- Proficiency in English, both written and oral
- This role can be remote in Mexico or a hybrid position requiring 1-2 days a week in the Reforma area of Mexico City
