Job Description

The Security Engineer at AlertMedia is responsible for implementing and improving security controls across the company's platform and infrastructure, supporting compliance efforts, and engaging with customers during security reviews to ensure the protection of data and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with engineering to implement security controls in the product and infrastructure
Design, implement, and improve security controls across AWS infrastructure and applications
Enhance monitoring and detection capabilities for security and incident response
Serve as a subject matter expert for the platform during customer security reviews and architecture discussions
Communicate technical concepts effectively to engineering, sales, legal, and customers
Support security and compliance posture through cross-functional collaboration
Support and prepare for SOC 2 and ISO audits
Secure AWS environments using IAM, VPC, KMS, WAF, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Macie
Integrate security practices into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows

Requirements

3 years of Security, Compliance, and Security Engineering experience
Experience supporting SOC 2 and/or ISO audits
Hands-on experience securing AWS environments including IAM, VPC, KMS, WAF, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Macie
Familiarity with Identity and Access Management, Encryption Standards, Cloud Infrastructure, and tooling
Experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows
Experience supporting customer security reviews
Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Highly organized with the ability to succeed in an ever-changing environment
Self-starter and team player, willing to jump in as needed
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication, collaboration, and prioritization skills, with a commitment to providing outstanding support
