Job Description
An Analytical Chemist responsible for operating and maintaining chromatography instruments, developing analytical methods, and ensuring high-quality data analysis to support research and development efforts at AIRCO's innovative carbon conversion technology company.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot GC, GCMS, and LC instruments.
- Perform routine and non-routine sample analysis using GC, GCMS, and LC techniques.
- Develop and validate analytical methods for sample analysis.
- Conduct sample preparation techniques such as extraction, derivatization, and purification.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of analytical results.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Analytical Chemistry or related field
- At least 2 years of experience in operating and maintaining GC, GCMS, and LC instruments
- Experience in developing analytical methods using GC, GCMS, and LC techniques
- In-depth knowledge of Chemstation and Chromeleon software
- Strong understanding of the principles of analytical chemistry, quantitative analysis, and quality control
- Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing complex analytical data, and preparing detailed analytical reports
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and guidelines
- Ideal industry experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, or environmental sectors
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve instrument issues
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work
- Ability to perform routine and non-routine sample analysis, including sample preparation techniques such as extraction, derivatization, and purification
- Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot GC, GCMS, and LC instruments
- Ability to develop and validate analytical methods following established protocols and industry standards
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment
