Job Description

The Sr. Director of Engineering at Affinity leads the development and strategic direction of the company's CRM platform, overseeing product roadmaps, engineering execution, team development, and technical strategy to deliver high-quality, scalable relationship intelligence solutions for professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape the product roadmap by collaborating with product and design teams to establish a strategic vision.
  • Lead engineering execution to ensure high-quality software and a positive user experience through iterative development.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and inclusion.
  • Create and implement a technical strategy aligned with business and product needs, focusing on usability, performance, and quality.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience building scalable web applications with large volumes of data and rich visualizations.
  • 8 years in an engineering leadership role, with experience leading multiple teams through managers and team leads.
  • Proven track record leading engineering within complex, customer-focused product environments in a B2B SaaS enterprise company.
  • Experience developing, coaching, and managing engineering leaders, such as Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers.
  • Ability to build talent density on teams, from recruiting to investing in the growth of team members.
  • Experience delivering high-quality products with outstanding functionality, platform performance, and reliability.
  • Strong, articulate, confident, and persuasive communication skills, with the ability to listen and represent diverse perspectives.
  • Experience working with a tech stack that includes React and TypeScript on the front end, Ruby and PostgreSQL on the back end, hosted on AWS and running on Kubernetes.
  • Comfortable embracing ambiguity, iterating quickly, and delivering incremental value each sprint.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within engineering and across functional teams.
  • Physical or mental ability to perform the job duties as described, including working in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
