Job Description
The Senior Director of Engineering at Affinity leads the development and strategic direction of the company's CRM product, overseeing engineering execution, team development, and technical strategy to deliver high-quality, scalable relationship intelligence solutions for professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape the product roadmap by collaborating with product and design teams to establish a strategic vision.
- Lead engineering execution to ensure high-quality software development and a positive user experience.
- Develop and mentor engineering teams to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Create and implement a technical strategy aligned with business and product needs, focusing on usability and performance.
Requirements
- 8 years of experience building scalable web applications with large volumes of data and rich visualizations.
- 8 years in an engineering leadership role, with experience leading multiple teams through managers and team leads.
- Proven track record leading engineering within complex, customer-focused product environments in a B2B SaaS enterprise company.
- Experience developing, coaching, and managing engineering leaders, such as Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers.
- Ability to build talent density on teams, from recruiting to investing in the growth of team members.
- Experience delivering high-quality products with outstanding functionality, platform performance, and reliability.
- Strong, articulate, confident, and persuasive communication skills, with the ability to listen and represent diverse perspectives.
- Comfortable embracing ambiguity, able to cut through ambiguity, and deliver incremental value each sprint.
- Experience working with a tech stack that includes React and TypeScript on the front end, and Ruby and PostgreSQL on the back end.
- Experience working with infrastructure hosted by AWS and running on Kubernetes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within engineering and across functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a technical strategy aligned with business and product needs.
- Physical and mental capacity to lead and develop a high-performing engineering team, including coaching and mentoring.
