Job Description
The Associate Director of Finance at Acumen Capital Partners is responsible for managing complex multi-fund operations, ensuring financial systems and compliance across multiple geographies, and supporting strategic financial decision-making to advance social impact initiatives focused on poverty alleviation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex multi-fund operations, ensuring robust financial systems, reporting, and compliance across multiple geographies
- Support Fund Managing Directors in establishing and maintaining best practices for finance and operations, including risk, treasury, and financial management
- Oversee board reporting, strategic planning, financial modeling, and performance analysis
- Ensure regulatory compliance and timely filing of tax and financial obligations in various jurisdictions
- Manage treasury functions, including internal financial systems, controls, bank relationships, and cash flow planning
- Assess strategic considerations, structuring, and evaluate accounting and tax implications for future growth
Requirements
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in fund management, particularly in an institutional context of a multi-fund manager.
- Deep fund management experience with a proven track record in managing complex multi-fund operations.
- Experience working in a complex, multi-structured, fast-paced, international organization, particularly with global entities and subsidiaries in developing countries.
- Bachelor's degree is required; a relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred.
- CPA or Chartered Accountant certification is required.
- Experience supporting fund managing directors to establish and maintain best-available practice for finance and operations, including maintenance of a roster of specialized tax, audit, and accounting service providers.
- Experience maintaining and improving controls, risk management, treasury functions, budgeting, liquidity, investment, cash flow, and financial management, including management of GP stakes and cash planning treasury functions.
- Experience with ACP board reporting, including strategic planning, modeling, and financial performance analysis.
- Experience ensuring regulatory compliance and filing of tax and financial regulatory obligations across jurisdictions, typically US and local, including tax optimization and transfer taxation requirements.
- Accountability for and experience in managing audit-related matters.
- Experience in treasury management, including management of internal financial systems, controls, procedures, bank account setup, and relationship management for new funds in the US and at the fund level.
- Ability to support strategic considerations, determine appropriate structuring, and evaluate accounting and tax implications for future planning (2026 and beyond).
- Experience with managing complex LP relationships and building consistency across multiple entities and subsidiaries.
- Strong relationship skills and versatility to interact effectively with employees, senior management, and oversight bodies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven management skills with the ability to coach and bring out the strengths of others.
- Demonstrated ability to be a data-driven decision-maker and a key strategic business partner influencing senior management on financial and operational issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including being a candid and assertive team player with a sense of humor.
- Natural intellectual curiosity and ability to build a strong network of relationships.

- Permanent authorization to work in the United States.
- Willingness to travel globally to country offices in London, Pakistan, Kenya, with anticipated one trip per year.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation range from $110,000 to $140,000 plus an annual performance-based bonus
Work schedule with 3 days in the office per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Location in New York City with potential global travel to London, Pakistan, and Kenya
