Job Description
The Impact Manager Reporting, Data and Analytics is responsible for designing and implementing technology solutions to support the monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) framework for a regional empowerment program in Africa, focusing on data management, reporting, analysis, and capacity building to enhance program impact and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement technology solutions for the program's MEL framework, including adapting or creating data management and reporting tools.
- Support the implementation of the MEL framework by developing data collection, management, and reporting plans and ensuring quality assurance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop quarterly reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI or Airtable.
- Conduct data analysis to generate insights and develop visualizations and infographics.
- Manage impact data, ensuring compliance with data governance, privacy, and security standards.
- Integrate data from multiple sources to produce comprehensive reports for stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain a knowledge management system to capture lessons learned and ensure proper documentation.
- Support program evaluations by providing necessary data and insights.
- Build capacity of team members and partners in using technology for MEL, including training and developing training materials.
- Monitor and report on data quality from partners through site visits and quarterly assessments.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years of experience in developing and managing data systems, MEL databases, and reporting tools.
- Strong hands-on experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) for complex, multi-country programmes.
- Demonstrated ability to strengthen the use of data for decision-making across different organisational levels.
- Strong skills in data analysis and data visualisation.
- Experience setting up routine reporting systems for actuals versus targets for quarterly and annual reporting.
- Experience using technology to support MEL in field and country contexts, including mobile data collection.
- Experience working with compliance teams on data governance and best practices.
- Experience building or using Salesforce-based data management and reporting systems.
- Interest or experience in AI solutions or AI agents for MEL.
- Experience in Impact Linked Finance, Value for Money, SROI, or Cost Benefit analysis.
- Project management qualification.
- Experience working in multi-country, matrix-managed environments.
- Experience in gender and youth programmes or working with private sector partners.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Airtable, Salesforce, or similar tools.
- Ability to work closely with Impact Manager Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, Impact Insight staff, Finance, Compliance, Legal, and Programme Insights teams.
- Capacity to develop and deliver training materials and training sessions to upskill staff and partners in technology for MEL.
- Ability to support lower capacity organisations to develop their own internal reporting systems in line with programmatic needs.
- Willingness to travel occasionally within the region.
- Based out of Acumen office in Nairobi or Lagos with an expectation of working from office 3 days a week; remote from other geographies is not an option.
- Ability to liaise with and support partner organisations and conduct site visits to monitor partner data management and reporting systems.
- Knowledge of data management best practices, including data collection, management, retention, reporting, protection, and security, in collaboration with Compliance and Legal teams.
