Job Description

The Investment Manager will evaluate and manage investment opportunities in the impact sector, conduct due diligence, structure deals, support portfolio companies post-investment, and drive exits, all while aligning with Acumen's mission to create social impact and support the poor.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate new investment opportunities and conduct due diligence
Structure deal terms and negotiate investment conditions
Manage and support existing portfolio companies post-investment
Lead exit strategies for portfolio companies
Identify and review investment pipeline in the climate sector
Prepare investment documentation for approval
Build relationships with impact funders and investors
Represent Acumen in portfolio forums and on company boards
Generate insights and document portfolio performance
Support companies in governance, finance, and leadership development

Requirements

At least 8 years of overall work experience, including a minimum of 4 years of investment experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or investment management
Experience with financial and operational due diligence of early-stage businesses
Superior financial modeling and business analysis skills demonstrated by prior experience
Familiarity with the social enterprise and impact investing sectors, with demonstrated commitment to serving the poor (preferred)
Solid operational skills including problem solving and project management skills, with the ability to work and deliver projects independently, proactively, and under pressure
MBA degree (preferred)
Authorization to work in India on a permanent basis
