Job Description

The Community Engagement Representative at Nexamp will focus on building relationships within the community to promote and drive participation in the Community Solar program, while also educating residents and businesses about renewable energy benefits. This role involves outreach, customer acquisition, and collaboration with local organizations to enhance Nexamp's presence and impact in the Bangor area.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, educate, and enroll small businesses in the Community Solar program.
  • Persuade residents and businesses to switch to Nexamp's Community Solar program.
  • Conduct outreach to build relationships with nonprofits, local organizations, and community leaders.
  • Educate communities about Community Solar benefits through presentations and interactions.
  • Serve as the local representative of Nexamp and secure referral partners for residential customers.
  • Track outreach efforts, community feedback, and enrollment progress.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to optimize outreach strategies.

Requirements

  • Experience in door-to-door canvassing, ideally in political campaigns, community organizing, or grassroots sales.
  • Strong community connections or ability to build trust quickly in Bangor and the surrounding area.
  • Self-motivated, outgoing, and excellent at face-to-face communication.
  • Comfortable working independently and in an incentive-based role.
  • Commitment to Nexamp's mission and a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
