Job Description
The Senior Manager will assist in the engineering aspects of large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, providing technical specifications and support during project tendering, design reviews, and stakeholder management, while promoting health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- •Promote and ensure health and safety in workplace obligations
- •Lead technical reviews of new development projects
- •Develop concept project designs and manage interconnection processes
- •Assist in development of innovative BESS solutions and technical business cases
- •Size Battery Energy Storage Systems to meet project requirements
- •Achieve grid connection approvals and negotiate connection agreements
- •Provide technical support during project design, construction, and commissioning
- •Coordinate development of US-specific project technical specifications
- •Support selection and contracting of BESS and Inverter OEMs
- •Manage technical schedules in EPC Balance of Plant Contracts
- •Attend Factory and Site Acceptance Testing for critical equipment
- •Support Asset Management team during operations phase of projects
- •Lead technical project business case development
- •Interact with external stakeholders on a technical basis
- •Occasional site visits for installation, commissioning, and maintenance oversight
Requirements
- •BS or MS in Electrical, Electronic or Power Systems Engineering
- •8 years experience in a generation, renewables, transmission or distribution electrical engineering role
- •Extensive technical knowledge of US engineering systems, calculations, application of engineering methods and materials
- •Experience and demonstrated knowledge of US primary and secondary electrical system design and design processes for renewable generators and HV substations
- •Experience working on utility-scale energy storage systems, renewable energy project or transmission system design and delivery
- •Strong technical writing, presentation and written and verbal communications skills
- •Mentoring, management and team-building skills, including ability to lead and work with a small, fast-paced team, learning and making critical decisions quickly
- •Exposure to commercial and contract management
- •Familiarity with US Interconnection processes
- •You must be a US citizen, hold permanent residency status or have existing US working rights to apply for this role
