Job Description

The HR Generalist - Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing employee benefits programs, including enrollment, claims processing, and leave administration, while providing HR support and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer employee benefit plans, including 401(k) and wellness programs
  • Process benefit enrollments and qualified family status changes
  • Initiate and manage life insurance, STD, and Workers' Compensation claims in coordination with carriers
  • Maintain and administer FMLA and Non-FMLA leave requests in compliance with policies
  • Deliver company and new hire presentations confidently
  • Provide HR support to achieve departmental goals

Requirements

  • Manage and administer comprehensive employee benefit plans, including 401(k) and wellness programs.
  • Process benefit enrollment for new hires and qualified family status changes, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Initiate and manage life insurance claims, Short Term Disability (STD) claims, and Workers' Compensation claims in coordination with carriers.
  • Maintain and administer FMLA and Non-FMLA leave requests, ensuring compliance with federal and company policies.
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Have 7 years of experience working with employee benefits.
  • Have experience and knowledge of HR compliance laws, rules, and regulations as well as best practices.
  • Have experience with self-funded plans.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasionally walk up and down stairs.
  • Occasionally stand.
