Job Description
The End User Combustion Consultant provides expert diagnosis, troubleshooting, and technical solutions for fired equipment such as furnaces, boilers, and incinerators, primarily serving refining and petrochemical clients, while supporting commissioning, maintenance, and environmental upgrades through travel and collaboration with a global team.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and assess fired equipment for mechanical integrity, operational suitability, and remaining useful life
- Identify failures and malfunctions; engineer technical and operational solutions
- Suggest and review maintenance activities, spare parts inventory, and sparing levels
- Conduct heater and furnace surveys; generate pre-turnaround scopes and reports
- Support equipment commissioning and startup processes
- Review and ensure proper installation, alignment, and functionality of equipment
- Coordinate with Zeeco SMEs and integrate Zeeco applications and solutions
- Develop scopes of inquiry for complete combustion solutions
- Provide technical expertise to upgrade technologies and solve combustion problems for end users
Requirements
- Serve in a fired equipment specialist engineer capacity for customers in the designated geographic locations by providing combustion solutions for furnaces, heaters, boilers, flares, incinerators, or other fired equipment and ancillary technologies.
- Apply problem-solving skills across multiple markets, customers, and equipment.
- Travel to different facilities to diagnose equipment issues, upgrade technologies to satisfy environmental initiatives, and solve combustion problems predominantly for refining and petrochemical end users with the support of a global team.
- Assist in diagnosing all fired equipment for mechanical integrity, operational suitability, and estimated remaining useful life.
- Diagnose failures and malfunctions of fired equipment.
- Engineer technical and operational solutions for combustion equipment issues.
- Suggest maintenance scope for repairs and review completed maintenance for suitability.
- Review spare parts inventory and sparing levels for combustion equipment.
- Conduct heater and furnace preliminary surveys.
- Generate pre-turnaround scope and reporting for equipment maintenance and inspection.
- Review equipment received at site and installed equipment for proper alignment during commissioning support.
- Assist with commissioning and startup of combustion equipment.
- Review and support the integration of Zeeco systems at customer sites, including coordinating with Zeeco SMEs for consultation.
- Develop scope of inquiry for complete solutions related to combustion equipment and Zeeco applications.
- Coordinate training and educational opportunities related to combustion systems and Zeeco technologies.
