The Wastewater Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining wastewater treatment plants in compliance with environmental regulations, performing daily rounds, troubleshooting equipment, and supporting plant operations during rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
Operate the wastewater treatment plant in compliance with environmental regulations
Perform daily rounds and monitor plant operations
Assist with equipment repairs and troubleshoot operational issues
Maintain plant grounds and perform cleaning tasks such as pressure washing, sweeping, and shoveling
Requirements
Possession of a valid wastewater treatment plant operator certification or license as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
Ability to operate wastewater treatment plant equipment in compliance with applicable local, state, and Federal environmental requirements.
Experience performing daily rounds, troubleshooting operational problems, and assisting with equipment repairs at a wastewater treatment plant.
Willingness to perform groundskeeping activities including pressure washing, light painting, sweeping, cleaning, and shoveling.
Availability to work rotating twelve-hour shifts from 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM, including nights, weekends, and legal holidays, with the possibility of overtime pay.
Ability to work in both Wastewater and Industrial Wastewater treatment environments.
Ability to maintain compliance with environmental regulations and produce high-quality treated wastewater.
Physical ability to perform tasks such as shoveling, sweeping, pressure washing, and other groundskeeping activities.
High school diploma or equivalent educational background (implied as minimum requirement for certification and operational duties).
