Job Description
A client-focused SCADA Controls Automation Project Engineer responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of automation and control systems for water, wastewater, and industrial projects across the New England region, ensuring project success from planning to completion while maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage SCADA control systems for water, wastewater, remediation, and industrial projects.
- Lead medium to large-scale SCADA project planning, execution, and completion within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Oversee and lead SCADA project startups, preconstruction, and kickoff meetings at job sites.
- Collaborate with municipal clients and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met.
- Maintain strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor throughout project lifecycle.
- Coordinate and support project teams, including project managers, engineers, and operations staff.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to initiatives that improve project performance and efficiency.
Requirements
- Experience serving as the lead for medium to large-scale implementation projects, which may be standalone or multidisciplinary SCADA projects.
- Ability to understand and meet project requirements while working within the project scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
- Strong communication and technical skills to interface with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Support and mentor junior staff to enhance team performance and efficiency.
- Willingness to support projects across the New England Region, including Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, with regional travel up to 80% and occasional overnight travel.
- Ability to develop, implement, and manage a variety of water, wastewater, remediation, and industrial projects with a focus on automation and control systems.
- Experience in overseeing and leading SCADA project startups, preconstruction, and kickoff meetings at job sites.
- Proficiency in collaborating with municipal clients and serving as a trusted advisor, maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Demonstrated understanding of project management principles to ensure delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Strong communication skills for regular client interaction and project updates.
- Physical ability to oversee and lead field activities at job sites, including startup and commissioning of control systems.
- Willingness to travel regionally up to 80%, including occasional overnight stays.
