The Wastewater Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling wastewater treatment processes, performing operational duties, basic laboratory testing, and preventative maintenance at a state-of-the-art facility, with opportunities for certification advancement and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Control the processing of wastewater and effluent by regulating influent and effluent flows
Monitor the operation of wastewater treatment plant equipment
Assist with basic laboratory testing and sample collection
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment
Requirements
Possess a Grade 2 Wastewater Treatment License issued by the State of California.
Obtain a Grade 3 Wastewater Treatment License within 6 to 12 months of initial employment, as the facility requires a Grade 3 license to operate independently.
Work under the direct or general supervision of the Lead Operator and Plant Manager.
Learn and perform a variety of operational duties to control the processing of wastewater and effluent, including regulating influent and effluent flows within the system.
Monitor the operation of a variety of wastewater treatment plant equipment.
Assist with basic laboratory testing, sample collection, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in support of the wastewater treatment plant.
Work a schedule of four 10-hour shifts from 6 am to 4 pm, Sunday through Wednesday, after onboarding and training.
Work rotating standby on call, including weekends, with a stipend of $200 for on-call time.
Be eligible for a $2,500 sign-on bonus.
