Job Description
A client-focused SCADA Controls Automation Project Engineer responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of automation and control systems for water, wastewater, and industrial projects across the New England region, ensuring project success from planning to completion while maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage SCADA control systems for water, wastewater, remediation, and industrial projects.
- Lead medium to large-scale SCADA project implementations from planning through completion.
- Oversee and lead SCADA project startups, preconstruction, and kickoff meetings at job sites.
- Collaborate with municipal clients and internal teams to ensure project scope, schedule, and budget are met.
- Maintain strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor throughout project lifecycle.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders, providing technical guidance and communication.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to initiatives that improve project performance and efficiency.
Requirements
- Experience serving as the lead for medium to large-scale implementation projects, which may be standalone or multidisciplinary SCADA projects, and understanding and meeting project requirements within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
- Strong communication and technical skills to interface effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to develop, implement, and manage water, wastewater, remediation, and some industrial projects with a focus on automation and control systems.
- Ability to oversee and lead SCADA project startups, preconstruction, and kickoff meetings at job sites within driving distance, including occasional overnight travel.
- Support and collaborate with a team of project managers, technical managers, engineers, and operations staff to ensure project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to initiatives that enhance performance and efficiency.
- Regional travel up to 80%, including occasional overnight travel.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel regionally within the New England area (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut).
- Demonstrated understanding of automation and control systems relevant to water and wastewater projects.
- Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to municipal clients and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
