Job Description
The Remediation Design Engineer supports and manages complex environmental remediation projects, including designing remediation systems, optimizing operations, leading field investigations, and evaluating pilot studies, primarily focusing on groundwater treatment and in-situ/ex-situ technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize the operations and performance of groundwater pump-and-treat remediation systems
- Design and implement in-situ and ex-situ remediation technologies and performance monitoring programs
- Lead field activities for Pre-Design Investigations to advance remediation programs at complex sites
- Evaluate treatability test and field pilot study results to support remediation project planning and construction
Requirements
- The candidate must have a mid-level engineering background with strong technical experience delivering high-quality remediation and consulting services to projects located across the firm's geography and core markets.
- The candidate must be able to support and manage a diverse range of challenging and engaging remediation projects, including optimizing groundwater pump-and-treat remediation systems, designing and implementing in-situ and ex-situ remediation technologies, and leading field activities for Pre-Design Investigations.
- The candidate must have experience in evaluating treatability test and field pilot study results to support teams in selecting, designing, and constructing full-scale remediation activities.
- The candidate must be able to work independently and lead multi-disciplined project teams.
- The candidate must have the ability to support and manage projects in a manner consistent with high-quality remediation and consulting standards.
- The candidate must be willing to travel up to an average of 25% to local clients and offices.
- The candidate must have the ability to support and contribute to remediation engineering services and projects at a national level, working directly with project managers, engineers, and scientists.
- The candidate must have a strong technical background in remediation engineering, including designing and implementing remediation technologies and performance monitoring programs.
- The candidate must have a professional engineering background or equivalent experience in environmental remediation engineering.
- The candidate must demonstrate motivation, energy, and growth-oriented professional attitude.
- The candidate must be capable of working in a hybrid work environment with 2-3 days in the office.
- The candidate must be able to support and contribute to complex remediation projects at industrial, commercial, and municipal sites.
