The Collection Systems Operations Chief oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and management of collection system facilities, ensuring regulatory compliance, effective system performance, and team leadership in a water treatment environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily operations and maintenance of collection system facilities in compliance with regulations
Schedule and direct staff in the operation and maintenance of facilities
Develop and oversee the capital budget and execute capital projects
Prepare, review, and submit Monthly Operating Reports and other regulatory reports
Maintain accurate records and utilize work management systems
Coordinate and communicate with staff, clients, contractors, and engineering firms to ensure system optimization
Perform hands-on operational tasks and produce required reports
Ensure proper facility coverage and maintenance
Train and mentor operators to enhance their performance
Obtain samples for analysis and ensure facility compliance
Requirements
Possession of a minimum Florida Class B collections certification, with a Florida Class A certification preferred.
Experience in managing the daily operations and maintenance of collection system facilities.
Ability to schedule staff and give appropriate direction to staff in the operation and maintenance of facilities.
Experience in budgeting, purchasing, and completing required Monthly Operating Reports (MORs) with accuracy.
Proficiency in utilizing the Hach Wims CMMS system to create MORs and other regulatory reports for submission.
Ability to develop and execute the capital budget and oversee capital projects.
Experience in overseeing payroll, ensuring proper facility coverage, and conducting employee evaluations.
Ability to maintain accurate records and maintain an open relationship with customers and the community.
Experience in obtaining samples for analysis and maintaining proper records.
Ability to perform hands-on work related to collection system operations.
Experience in coordinating and communicating with staff, client representatives, contractors, and engineering firms to ensure effective system operation and optimization.
Ability to produce all required reports related to collection system operations.
Physical ability to work outdoors and perform field duties related to water resource protection.
Willingness to participate actively in the daily operation, maintenance, and management of collection system facilities.
Experience in performing operational tasks in compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations.
